The biggest misconception in website creation is hiring
" computer guy " or someone "that knows computers". In reality,
it is the opposite. The " computer guy" is not a marketing or creative
professional, he is typically a person who deals in building IT infrastructures
and integrating IT solutions . A web site is one of today's leading marketing and
promotional tools and should be viewed as a marketing initiative, not an IT solution.
As an example, is a professional race car driver the same person who designs and
engineers the car? The driver is trained to drive the car that the engineers have
built. IT people build the computers, marketing companies drive the business, traffic
and the overall user experience.
